Kicking the Bucket: Mayan Style!

Mayan-Calendar1

Apparently, IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD!!! STOP PAYING BILLS! DON’T WORRY ABOUT YOUR DIET! There has been speculation that the ending of the Maya calendar (Mesoamerican Long Count calendar) signifies the end of the world, with a date of December 21st. Couple the ending of the calendar with other things that are happening in the world (i.e. warm weather in December), and we literally have the makings of a made-for-television-movie on the Syfy channel. Before you start telling your boss how you REALLY feel, there are a lot of reports that contradict the claim that the world as we know it will be destroyed before the end of the month.

While I think that we will still be here after the 21st, I couldn’t help but think of the things that I wanted to cross off on my bucket list: skydiving, visit more countries, and run a marathon, I mean publish a book.  We shouldn’t have the threat of an apocalypse to fulfill our dreams and aspirations- right?

So, I propose that we start that bucket list NOW! Instead of creating your list of things that you want to accomplish before you die, but rather before the end of month.

So to help you get that bucket list underway, here are a couple things to consider:

  • What is it that you want to achieve
  • The date that you want to achieve it
  • Any “considerations” (i.e. cost, time needed, etc.)

There you have it! Get started now, so if the end of the world is on the 21st, at least you will go in the middle of doing something you love!

As always, thank you for reading.

Ps. The phrase “Run in a Marathon” is NOT on my bucket list.
